Dodoma City Council gives 21-Day notice to land plot defaulters in Mtumba and Kikombo

By The Respondents Reporter

The Dodoma City Council has published a preliminary list of land plot defaulters in Mtumba Zone II, Mtumba Zone III, and Kikombo, as part of its ongoing efforts to manage public land effectively.

Speaking to journalists in Dodoma on December 29, 2025, Dennis Harrison Gondwe, Chief of Government Communications, said that those listed have been given 21 days from December 30, 2025, to complete their land payments.

He explained that the exercise followed a verification process by the council to identify citizens, institutions, and companies that have not yet fulfilled their payment obligations for land plots in the specified areas.

The verification revealed a large number of defaulters, which has affected the council’s ability to implement key infrastructure projects such as roads, electricity, water supply, and other essential services.

Gondwe noted that incomplete land payments have also impacted the Dodoma City Council’s budget plans, as the funds were intended for delivering vital social services to residents.

The council has published a preliminary official list of defaulters, including names, plot numbers, and respective plot blocks, to remind citizens of their obligations.

He warned that after the 21-day notice period, all plots with pending payments will be returned to the market starting December 30, 2025.

The Dodoma City Council urged all defaulters in Mtumba Zones II and III, and Kikombo to complete their payments within the set timeframe.

Those who have already paid but whose names appear on the list are asked to visit the council offices with original ownership documents for verification.

The list of defaulters will be available in the Mwananchi newspaper on December 30, 2025, on the council’s website www.dodomacc.go.tz, and on the council’s social media platforms: Instagram @dodomacc_tz and Facebook Dodoma Council.

For more details, residents can visit the Dodoma City Council offices, formerly the municipal offices, at Plot No. 03, or contact the council via phone at 0754 551 694.
