The Secretary General of Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), Ambassador Dr. Asha-Rose Migiro, on Monday, December 22, 2025, held talks with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Tanzania, Her Excellency Chen Mingjian, at the CCM Sub-Headquarters Offices, Lumumba, in Dar es Salaam.
The discussions focused on further strengthening the historic and brotherly relations between Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) and the Communist Party of China (CPC), alongside enhancing diplomatic relations between the United Republic of Tanzania and the People’s Republic of China.
During the meeting, the two sides underscored the importance of deepening political solidarity, exchanging experiences in party leadership and governance, and expanding cooperation in social and economic development for the benefit of citizens of both countries.
Dr. Migiro noted that the relationship between CCM and CPC is founded on mutual respect, solidarity and shared development goals, emphasizing that CCM continues to value China’s contribution to Tanzania’s development journey since the era of the founding leaders of the two nations.
On his part, Ambassador Chen Mingjian reaffirmed the commitment of the Chinese Government and the Communist Party of China to strengthening close cooperation with CCM, describing China as a reliable partner in Tanzania’s pursuit of sustainable development and prosperity.
The meeting forms part of CCM’s ongoing efforts to promote party-to-party diplomacy and to consolidate the long-standing friendship between Tanzania and China, which remains a key pillar of international cooperation.
