The Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) in Tanzania has reaffirmed its commitment to continue cooperating with the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) through voluntary tax compliance.
The pledge came during a meeting on December 3, 2025, between TRA Commissioner General, Mr. Yusuph Juma Mwenda, and Mr. Amin Mawji, AKDN’s Diplomatic Representative in Tanzania.
Speaking at TRA offices in Dar es Salaam, Mr. Mawji expressed satisfaction with TRA’s services, noting that the authority has been consistently responsive to taxpayers’ needs.
He also commended Commissioner General Mwenda for making himself available whenever taxpayers require discussions or guidance.
For his part, Commissioner General Mwenda described the Aga Khan community as one of Tanzania’s model taxpayers.
He pledged that TRA will continue delivering efficient services to all taxpayers while supporting business operations and investment in the country.
“The doors of TRA are always open to all taxpayers,” Commissioner General Mwenda said. “We are committed to listening, empowering, and resolving the tax challenges that businesses and individuals face.”
