The Agency for the Development of Educational Management (ADEM) has announced a fundraising marathon that aims to unite education stakeholders and mobilise resources to improve infrastructure at its Bagamoyo campus in the Coast Region.
The event, set for Saturday, December 6, 2025, will bring together education institutions, organisations involved in education management, students from various colleges in the region, and residents from surrounding communities.
The marathon also seeks to promote unity, peace, and stability within the country’s learning environment.
Speaking in Bagamoyo on Tuesday, ADEM Executive Director Dr Maulid J. Maulid invited all education stakeholders from across the country to participate.
He said the Coast Regional Commissioner, Mr Aboubakar Kunenge, is expected to grace the event as the guest of honour.
Dr Maulid noted that each participant will be required to contribute a small fee, which will support ADEM’s initiative to raise funds for upgrading its facilities.
Participants will receive running kits, including branded T-shirts and caps, while top runners will walk away with various cash prizes.
The race will feature 10-kilometre and 5-kilometre categories, both starting at the ADEM Bagamoyo campus and stretching into the new Bagamoyo township.
The organising team has encouraged interested participants to register through 0752 160555 or 0742 777222.
The marathon will run under the theme “Quality Infrastructure for Strong Educational Leadership,” underscoring the importance of investing in education systems to enhance the quality of learning and leadership in the sector.
