The Commissioner General of the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA), Mr. Yusuph Juma Mwenda, has called on TRA staff to maintain strong relationships with taxpayers by providing professional services while strictly observing the law.
Speaking on November 18, 2025, during a visit to the TRA Dodoma offices, Mr. Mwenda, accompanied by TRA management, stressed that good relations with taxpayers not only build trust in the authority but also encourage voluntary tax compliance, boosting government revenue for national development.
"Strengthen your relations with taxpayers by visiting them, listening to their concerns, and addressing their challenges promptly. This will continue to build the trust they have in us," he said.
Mr. Mwenda also commended Dodoma TRA staff for their dedication in revenue collection and encouraged them to develop innovative strategies to expand the taxpayer base while upholding professional ethics.
He further expressed satisfaction with the new TRA Dodoma regional office building, noting that it will enhance service delivery by providing taxpayers with a more comfortable and welcoming environment.
