The upcoming Mindful Leadership Training: University Edition has been specially designed to empower female students with essential leadership tools while their minds are still in an active learning phase.
The first group to benefit from this University Edition will be female students at Kairuki University in Dar es Salaam, who will gather on campus this Saturday for the session.
This groundbreaking initiative is sponsored by Exim Bank’s Women Empowerment Programme (WEP), under the Exim Cares umbrella.
In a media briefing in Dar es Salaam, Mind Matters Tanzania founder Ms. Nadia Ahmed explained that the initiative aims to support female students as future leaders.
“They will soon occupy key positions in various sectors, so it is vital to equip them with fundamental leadership skills to become effective and conscious leaders,” she said.
“We want to provide proper leadership training while they are still in school and actively absorbing new ideas. Our goal is clear: to prepare them to be competitive and mindful future leaders.”
Ms. Nadia also noted that most leadership programs are geared toward professionals already in senior positions in the workforce, which is one reason Mind Matters decided to bring the training into the community and into the academic setting.
“I want to take this opportunity to invite all Kairuki University female students to join this transformative training, which will play a significant role in shaping their futures,” she added.
This initiative is part of the expansion of the Mindful Leadership Movement, which has already empowered 150 Tanzanian women with modern and mindful leadership skills.
This year, the program ran in three cohorts: the first on Saturday, September 27, the second on Saturday, October 4, and the third on Saturday, October 11, 2025.
“Each cohort brought its own unique energy. The first was vibrant, curious, and deeply reflective; the second brought emotional depth and a strong sense of sisterhood; and the third was electric, blending engagement, insight, and authenticity,” Ms. Nadia shared.
