JKT Queens are set to depart tomorrow at 5:00 a.m. for Egypt to participate in the CAF Women’s Champions League, scheduled to run from November 8 to 21.
The club’s delegation will consist of 43 members, including 23 players and 20 technical and administrative staff.
This was confirmed by JKT Tanzania/JKT Queens Information Officer, Masau Bwire, during an interview with The Respondents Online.
According to Bwire, the team has finalized all preparations and the players are mentally and physically ready for the continental challenge.
He noted that the club’s objective is to compete strongly, secure positive results, and progress to the later stages of the tournament.
“Our preparations have been completed and all travel logistics are in order. The players are motivated and ready. We are asking for the support and prayers of Tanzanians as we head to Egypt to achieve our goals,” he said.
JKT Queens have been drawn in Group B, where they will face TP Mazembe of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Aces Mimosas of Ivory Coast, and Gaborone United of Botswana.
They will begin their campaign against Gaborone United, before playing Aces Mimosas, and will conclude their group stage fixtures with a match against TP Mazembe.
The Tanzanian champions will be seeking to make a strong impression on the continental stage and raise the country’s profile in women’s football.
