The Tanzania Media Women’s Association (TAMWA) has conveyed condolences to families and communities affected by the violence reported during and after the October 29, 2025 General Election.

In a statement issued yesterday, TAMWA expressed sympathy to those who lost relatives, including women, children and members of the media industry.

The organisation also extended comfort to individuals who sustained injuries or experienced emotional distress during the incidents.

TAMWA described the situation as “deeply painful,” noting that the loss of life and property damage had caused widespread grief across various parts of the country.

The association urged continued support for affected families as the nation focuses on healing and reconciliation.

The association called on citizens to remain united and prioritize peace as the country moves forward. It underscored the importance of safeguarding human dignity, respecting human rights, and promoting constructive civic dialogue in the aftermath of the unrest.

“As the nation passes through this difficult moment, TAMWA stands with all Tanzanians who are working to restore unity, compassion and peace,” said TAMWA Executive Director, Dr. Rose Reuben, in the statement. She emphasized the need to protect lives and strengthen trust between communities.

TAMWA further reaffirmed its commitment to advancing equality, justice and social development, calling on the public and institutions to work together in fostering national stability and coexistence.
