The digital platform PIKU is demonstrating how technology can create real economic opportunities for Tanzanians.
Recently, the platform awarded winners with motorcycles, LG televisions, Samsung Galaxy S6 smartphones, perfumes, and Bolt ride vouchers, highlighting the potential of digital platforms to drive entrepreneurship and financial independence.
For winners, the prizes are more than rewards—they are tools for income generation. Jackson Ngonji, who won a TVS HLX 125 motorcycle, described the prize as transformative.
“This motorcycle will allow me to run a passenger transport business, earn a daily income, save for my family, and become financially independent,” he said.
Ngonji emphasized that PIKU provides young Tanzanians with practical opportunities to improve their livelihoods through technology.
Similarly, Nestory Augustine, who received an LG television, Airtel router, and Samsung S6 smartphone, highlighted the economic benefits of digital tools.
“I discovered PIKU on Instagram. Seeing others win encouraged me to participate. I will use the phone and internet to grow my business and generate income. This platform proves that participation with the right intent can bring real results,” Augustine said.
Other winners included Irene Lyimo, who received a Sh. 100,000 Bolt ride voucher; Jonathan Paul, who won a Samsung S6 smartphone; and Angela Joseph, who received a combination of male and female products along with a smartphone.
All winners expressed excitement, noting that the prizes not only motivated them but also inspired peers to embrace technology-driven opportunities.
Barnabas Mbunda, PIKU Africa’s Communications Manager, stressed the platform’s transparency and credibility.
“This is not a lottery. PIKU is a professionally designed digital platform that offers young people and entrepreneurs access to modern and valuable products. Even if you don’t succeed at first, persistence can lead to success. PIKU continues to expand its offerings daily,” he said.
Through initiatives like PIKU, digital technology is increasingly enabling Tanzanians, especially youth, to leverage online platforms for economic growth, creating pathways for entrepreneurship, financial independence, and socio-economic development.
