Simba SC goalkeeper Maoussa Camara is set to travel to Morocco tomorrow for surgery to treat a persistent knee injury.
According to an official statement released on Simba’s app on November 14, 2025, Camara will undergo the operation on November 17. Following the procedure, he is expected to be sidelined for eight to ten weeks.
“Camara sustained the injury during the second leg of the CAF Champions League playoff match against Gaborone United on September 28 at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam. The game ended 0-0, but Simba advanced to the group stage thanks to a 3-0 away win,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, Simba continues preparations for two upcoming group stage matches. The team will host Angola’s Petro de Luanda on November 22 at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium before traveling to face Mali’s Malien on November 30.
At present, the squad is made up of players not involved in national team duties, under the guidance of General Manager Dimitar Pantev.
