Buyers gear up for major Gemstone Auction in Arusha

By The Respondents Reporter

Gemstone buyers from across Tanzania have flocked to the Tanzania Gemological Centre (TGC) in Arusha to inspect and verify the quality of stones ahead of the Third Gemstone Auction, set for November 27, 2025.

The inspection is a critical step to ensure transparency, fair competition, and accurate market pricing, as all gemstones listed in the digital auction are required to meet verified quality standards.

The event continues to attract strong participation from local buyers, expanding business opportunities and boosting the gemstone sector’s contribution to national economic growth.

It also opens new avenues for miners and sellers to reach broader markets through a modern, secure, and efficient trading platform.

These efforts form part of the government’s ongoing strategy, led by the Ministry of Minerals in collaboration with the Tanzania Mercantile Exchange (TMX), to modernize gemstone trading and management systems, making them more profitable and beneficial to citizens and the country at large.
