Azam FC will depart Tanzania on November 19 for Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), to face AS Maniema Union in their opening group-stage match of the CAF Confederation Cup, scheduled for November 21.
The Tanzanian side resumed training today, November 12, 2025, following a short break after their 1–1 draw with Namungo FC in the NBC Premier League.
Azam’s Head of Information and Communication, Thabith Zakaria, said preparations are in full swing, with the entire squad in good condition except for midfielder Feisal Salum, who is under medical observation after sustaining an injury in the Namungo game.
“We are waiting for a full medical report from both the national team and club doctors on Feisal’s condition. Otherwise, the rest of the team is fit, and our preparations are progressing well. Our main focus is to start the group stage strongly,” said Zakaria.
He added that the match against AS Maniema Union is crucial for Azam’s campaign, as a positive result away from home would give the team the momentum needed to perform well in subsequent fixtures.
After completing their assignment in DRC, Azam FC will return to Tanzania on November 22 before traveling to Zanzibar to prepare for their second group-stage match against Wydad AC on November 28 at the New Amaan Complex.
Zakaria expressed optimism that the team’s focus and commitment would help them achieve good results in the continental competition, reflecting the club’s growing ambitions on the African stage.
