The Office of the Attorney General (AG) is stepping up its efforts to provide faster and more accessible legal services, a move that is set to improve government efficiency and benefit citizens across the country.
Speaking during his visit to the AG’s Chambers on November 25, 2025, the Minister for Constitution and Legal Affairs, Dr. Juma Zuberi Homera, applauded the institution for its improved performance, noting that legal matters and government contracts are now processed more efficiently.
“The Office of the Attorney General is doing an impressive job. Contracts and legal issues are now being handled promptly, which strengthens government operations and ultimately benefits Tanzanians by ensuring better and faster services,” Dr. Homera said.
The Minister emphasized that the AG’s Office plays a crucial role in delivering reliable legal services to the public.
He highlighted that strengthening institutions like the AG’s Office directly contributes to improving the quality of life for citizens.
Deputy Minister for Constitution and Legal Affairs, Zainab Athman Katimba, joined in commending the AG’s Office for maintaining high standards of professionalism and operational efficiency.
Deputy Attorney General Samwel M. Maneno outlined the Office’s achievements and capacity-building initiatives, noting that 117 staff members received specialised training between July and September 2025.
These programmes are aimed at improving skills in legal analysis, contract review, and advisory services, ensuring that staff can serve the public more effectively.
Mr. Maneno also highlighted the continued role of regional AG offices, which bring legal services closer to citizens in different parts of the country, reinforcing the government’s commitment to accessible justice.
Dr. Homera was accompanied on the visit by Deputy Permanent Secretary Dr. Franklin Jasson Rwezimula and Assistant Director for Public Legal Services Abdulrahman M. Msham.
“The reforms and efficiency improvements in the AG’s Office are not only strengthening government operations but are making legal services more accessible to every Tanzanian,” Dr. Homera said, underscoring the government’s commitment to citizen-centered service delivery.
