Ambassador Liberata Mulamula, the African Union’s Special Envoy for Women, Peace and Security, has lauded President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s address at the opening of the 13th Parliament, describing it as a clear and confident roadmap for strengthening national unity and accelerating Tanzania’s development.
Speaking shortly after attending the inauguration session in Dodoma, Ambassador Mulamula said the President’s message captured the aspirations of a country determined to advance through reconciliation, cooperation, and a citizen-centred approach to governance.
“I am pleased to have been in Dodoma for the opening of Parliament and to listen to President Samia’s speech,” she said.
“It was a powerful and thoughtful address one that spoke directly to building a united Tanzania anchored in solidarity and guided by a government that is firmly committed to improving people’s lives.”he added
Ambassador Mulamula noted that President Samia’s emphasis on peace, stability, and national cohesion reflects long-term leadership focused on creating a secure environment for economic and social progress.
She encouraged Tanzanians to take to heart the President’s call to safeguard peace and continue supporting efforts aimed at strengthening the economy and expanding opportunities for communities across the country.
In her remarks, Ambassador Mulamula also congratulated newly appointed leaders, including Vice President Dr. Emmanuel Nchimbi and Zanzibar’s Second Vice President Hemmed Abdullah, describing their roles as “critical in sustaining the nation’s momentum.”
She further commended Prime Minister Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba, Speaker of Parliament Musa Zungu, and Deputy Speaker Daniel Sillo for earning the trust of national leadership at a crucial moment for Tanzania’s governance and development agenda.
The opening of the 13th Parliament signals the start of a new chapter one shaped by the President’s call for unity, purpose, and collective responsibility as Tanzania works to build a stronger and more prosperous future for all citizens.
