Yanga SC has announced that all general stands for their second-leg CAF Champions League match against Malawi’s Silver Strikers FC will be free of charge, with only VIP A and VIP B sections reserved for invited guests.
The announcement came on October 21, 2025, from Yanga’s Media and Communications Manager, Ali Shaban Kamwe, ahead of the October 25 fixture at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
“This is a decisive match that will determine Yanga’s qualification to the group stage of the CAF Champions League. Entry will be free for all stands except VIP A and VIP B, which are reserved for invited guests,” Kamwe said.
He explained that the decision follows requests from fans and club members, who asked for free entry to ensure maximum support for the team in this crucial home tie.
“Our club leadership met this morning to consider fans’ requests and approved them. All supporters will therefore have free access, except in VIP areas,” Kamwe added.
Kamwe also issued a warning to non-Yanga supporters with bad intentions, stressing that the day is meant for fans to show their support for the team.
“This request came from Yanga fans and has been approved. Anyone not supporting Yanga who comes with ill intentions will be held accountable. Come and enjoy the match, but respect the spirit of the day,” he emphasized.
Yanga faces the challenge of overturning a first-leg defeat in Malawi as they aim to secure a place in the group stage of the 2025/26 CAF Champions League.
