The Ministry of Health has received a donation of office equipment from the civil society organization Thamini Uhai, in a move aimed at supporting the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery across the country.

The donation, handed over on October 27, 2025, includes two office tables, nine chairs, and three cabinets all intended to improve the working environment for health staff and enhance efficiency in service provision.

Speaking during the handover ceremony on behalf of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Assistant Director for Nursing and Midwifery Services, Mr. Paul Magesa, said the gesture reflects the importance of collaboration between the government and development partners in ensuring quality healthcare reaches all citizens.

“The support from Thamini Uhai is a practical expression of valuing life. It helps create a more conducive working environment for health professionals, which translates into better services for the public,” said Mr. Magesa.

He noted that a strong partnership with non-state actors plays a crucial role in advancing the country’s health agenda and addressing challenges within the system.

For his part, the Executive Director of Thamini Uhai, Mr. Banzi Msumi, said the donation aligns with the organization’s mission to complement government efforts in improving healthcare delivery nationwide.

“As partners in the health sector, we share the responsibility to work hand in hand with the government to ensure that Tanzanians continue to access quality health services,” Mr. Msumi said.

He reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to continue supporting initiatives that promote maternal, newborn, and reproductive health areas in which Thamini Uhai has worked closely with the Ministry over the years.

The Ministry of Health commended the organization for its continued collaboration and called on other stakeholders to emulate such efforts, noting that improving the health sector requires collective commitment from all partners.
