TCRA receives new applications for broadcasting and cybersecurity licenses

The Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA) has invited public feedback on applications from companies seeking broadcasting and cybersecurity licenses under the Converged Licensing Framework. 

The announcement, made on October 2, 2025, gives stakeholders 14 days to submit comments, in line with the Electronic and Postal Communications Act, Cap 306.

Four companies have applied for licenses covering commercial district radio and television broadcasting as well as cybersecurity services.

WCS Media Group Ltd seeks a Commercial District Content Radio Broadcasting license, with William Donald Mwenda and Christina Honour Mbinja holding 50% and 30% of shares, respectively, while 20% remain unallocated.

Infosec (T) Limited and IVO Solutions Limited have applied for cybersecurity services licenses. Infosec (T) Limited shows equal 50-50 ownership between Farida Senge Ntunduu and Joel Wilson Kazoba.

 IVO Solutions Limited lists Emiliana Kawanila Hyera as the majority shareholder with 98%, and Remigius David Hyera holding 2%.

Vimba Media Limited has applied for a Commercial District Content Television Broadcasting license, with only 0.02% of shares held by Tanzanian investors; the remaining 99.98% is unallocated.

Dr. Jabiri K. Bakari, TCRA’s Director General, stressed the role of public participation in promoting transparency and accountability in the licensing process.

Comments on the suitability of these applicants can be submitted via email or post to TCRA headquarters at Mawasiliano Towers, 20 Sam Nujoma Road, Dar es Salaam, as outlined in the public notice.
