Tanzanian women golfers Neema Olomi, Vicky Elias, Khadija Selemani, and Shufaa Twalib, led by team manager Yasmin Chali, have departed for Kenya to represent Tanzania at the East and Central Africa Women’s Golf Championship (EACAACT).

The players left the country on Sunday, October 19, 2025, and will compete at the prestigious Great Rift Valley Lodge & Golf Resort in Naivasha from October 22 to 24.

The tournament brings together top women golfers from Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Rwanda, Madagascar, and Reunion.

Manager Chali noted that for some players, this is their debut with the national team, following strong performances in domestic competitions.

She said the team spent three days practicing on the course to adapt to local conditions and expressed
confidence in their performance.

We thank the Tanzania Sports Council (BMT) and other stakeholders for enabling our players to participate. This tournament provides an important platform to gain experience and exchange ideas,” Chali said.

Rosemary Mkok, Chairperson of the Union of Women Golfers, welcomed all participants to the event, describing it as an opportunity to showcase talent, build friendships, and foster cultural exchange.

She added that the organizers have ensured the tournament will run smoothly with world-class facilities, warm hospitality, and a true reflection of the spirit of golf.
