The Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, on Wednesday officially received the credentials of the incoming Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mohammad Javad Hemmatpanah, during a ceremony at the Ministry’s Dar es Salaam office.
Minister Kombo congratulated the ambassador on his appointment and reaffirmed Tanzania’s commitment to providing full support and cooperation as he begins his diplomatic mission.
“Over the years, Tanzania and Iran have enjoyed a strong and friendly relationship, founded on mutual respect and common interests. This partnership continues to expand across trade, investment, education, health, energy, as well as science, technology, and innovation,” Minister Kombo said.
Ambassador Hemmatpanah expressed Iran’s intention to further strengthen cooperation with Tanzania, particularly in economic and investment ventures, pharmaceuticals, and infrastructure development.
The ceremony underscores the growing diplomatic and economic ties between the two nations, paving the way for deeper collaboration in key sectors.
