More than 500 visitors flocked to Tabora Wildlife Garden (Tabora Zoo) today, October 18, 2025, for the annual Wildlife BBQ Festival organized by the Tanzania Wildlife Management Authority (TAWA) Western Zone.
The festival, designed to promote domestic tourism and the sustainable, legal use of wildlife resources, attracted tourists from across Tanzania and abroad.
The event saw participation from government officials, including District Commissioners from Tabora and Uyui, local residents, and international guests.
Attendees praised TAWA for its innovative approach, highlighting that the festival offered a rare opportunity to “taste the fruits of conservation” through initiatives led by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism, which ensure communities benefit from wildlife resources without compromising long-term sustainability.
The day-long event came alive with traditional music performances, cultural dances, and the enticing aroma of expertly grilled wildlife dishes prepared by skilled chefs.
Guests enjoyed the flavors while learning about the critical role of sustainable wildlife conservation in promoting tourism and safeguarding national heritage.
