Today, Saturday, October 18, 2025, around 1,000 boda boda and bajaji operators in Mtumba constituency, Dodoma, gathered with parliamentary candidate Mr. Anthony Mavunde to publicly affirm their readiness to exercise their constitutional right to vote in the upcoming General Election scheduled for October 29, 2025.

The transport officers also took the opportunity to express their gratitude to President Samia Suluhu Hassan for constructing their regional office in Makole, a development they described as a significant boost to their sector.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Mavunde, who is running on a CCM ticket for the newly established Mtumba constituency, thanked President Samia for her dedication to empowering the transport sector.

He highlighted the recently completed regional office and noted that he personally contributed to constructing a perimeter wall for the facility, reinforcing his commitment to supporting the welfare of transport officers.

Mr. Mavunde also praised the operators for their continued cooperation in advancing the sector and assured them that, if elected as Member of Parliament, he would focus on initiatives aimed at enhancing their financial stability, improving infrastructure at motorcycle taxi stations, promoting ownership of motorcycles, fostering positive relations with law enforcement, addressing parking challenges in collaboration with relevant authorities, and supporting access to affordable motorcycle maintenance.

The gathering underscored the transport officers’ strong civic engagement and their confidence in leadership that continues to prioritize the development of local transport infrastructure.
