Morogoro Regional Commissioner, Adam Malima, has issued a strong warning to anyone planning to disrupt peace during Tanzania’s General Election, saying security forces are alert and ready to protect the country’s stability.
Speaking on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at the 'Peace for Elections Conference' organized by the Tanzania Zakkat Memorial Institute in Morogoro, Malima stressed that attempts to stir unrest are often influenced by external actors and do not serve Tanzania’s interests.
“Any group or individual trying to create chaos during the elections will face the full force of the law. Peace and order must be preserved for the benefit of all citizens,” he said.
Sheikh Alhad Mussa, Chairman of the Tanzanian Association for Reconciliation and Peace (JMAT), called on Tanzanians to reject hatred and actions that threaten the lives of others, particularly during this critical election period.
Meanwhile, Bishop-Elect of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania (ELCT), Morogoro Diocese, Dr. George Pindua, assured that religious leaders will continue promoting messages of peace, unity, and love, helping ensure elections are conducted in a safe and calm environment.
The conference brought together community leaders, religious figures, and peace advocates, highlighting the importance of citizen responsibility in maintaining harmony during the electoral period.
