Public servants across Tanzania have been urged to participate actively in the upcoming General Election set for October 29, 2025.
The call came from Juma Mkomi,Parmanent Secretary of the President’s Office, Public Service Management and Good Governance.
Speaking at the third session of the Eighth Workers’ Council held in Dodoma, Mkomi emphasized that, despite not being affiliated with any political party, he is deeply committed to the nation’s welfare and development.
He stressed that every eligible Tanzanian, especially public servants, has a duty to take part in the democratic process.
“I urge my fellow public servants to turn out in large numbers on October 29 to cast their votes. This is not only a constitutional obligation but also a direct way to shape the future of our country,” Mkomi said.
He noted that even political leaders encourage their families to participate, and public servants should lead by example by engaging peacefully and responsibly in the elections.
“Let us be at the forefront, setting an example in building democracy through active participation,” he added.
The call comes as Tanzania prepares for a nationwide exercise that will allow citizens to choose leaders who will represent them, reinforcing good governance and inclusive development.
