Ministry of Finance urges staff to embrace sports

The Ministry of Finance has called on its employees to actively participate in sports, emphasizing the role of physical activity in promoting health, mental alertness, and teamwork.

Deputy Permanent Secretary Jenifa Christian Omolo said ministry staff will continue to engage in various sporting activities to strengthen both their physical fitness and professional collaboration.

Her remarks came during a meeting with Nsolo Mlozi, Director and Chairperson of the Organizing Committee for the Capital City Marathon, which is set for October 5, 2025.

 Omolo praised the initiative, noting that it provides a platform for staff to showcase their talent while fostering unity.

Mlozi said the committee has been introducing innovative approaches each year to attract wider participation.

He also expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Finance for allowing a significant number of its employees to take part in the marathon, assuring that safety and security would be the top priority for all participants.

The meeting was also attended by Lusius Mwenda, Director of Administration and Human Resources at the Ministry of Finance, and Scola Malinga, Acting Head of the Ministry’s Government Communication Unit.
