The Kibaha Municipal Council has taken a major step to improve the everyday lives of its residents by allocating TZS 420 million from its own revenue to upgrade and open neighborhood roads across all wards.
This effort is driven by a clear goal: to ensure that your community’s roads support your daily needs from getting to school and work to accessing health services and markets.
Dr. Rogers Shemwelekwa, the Municipal Director, has made it clear that these investments reflect a commitment to the people of Kibaha.
Each ward has been allocated TZS 30 million to begin improving roads that are vital for everyone’s mobility and safety.
“Our roads connect you to essential services and opportunities,” Dr. Shemwelekwa said. “This project is about putting your resources to work where they matter most.”
The response from citizens has been encouraging. In Sofu Ward, residents express genuine appreciation for seeing their taxes being used to solve real problems.
Mr. Idd Alfan, Chairperson of Twendepamoja Street, shared how this visible change has strengthened trust between the community and local government.
“Knowing that our contributions make a difference motivates us to continue supporting these efforts,” he said.
For residents like Ms. Deborah Mkoma, the road improvements have already transformed daily life. Previously, poor road conditions made it difficult to reach hospitals and markets, especially during the rainy season.
Now, motorbikes and vehicles can pass easily, making transport safer and more affordable. “These improvements have made a real difference. We thank the leadership for listening to us and acting,” Ms. Mkoma shared.
This initiative is more than just construction it is a partnership between you and the municipal government.
Together, you can ensure these improvements are protected and sustained. Dr. Shemwelekwa invites all residents to take part in this journey, whether by monitoring progress or continuing to contribute through taxes, emphasizing that success depends on everyone’s involvement.
With this investment, Kibaha is moving toward a future where better roads create better opportunities for all citizens.
The Municipal Council’s promise is clear: to build infrastructure that serves you, improves your quality of life, and respects your voice.
