The Mbeya Regional Defense and Security Committee, led by Regional Commissioner Beno Malisa, has commended Holyland English Medium Nursery and Primary School in Makongolosi, Chunya District, for its exceptional standards in teaching, discipline, and student care.
During an official visit, the committee expressed admiration for the school’s commitment to academic excellence, child welfare, and the provision of well-balanced, nutritious meals describing Holyland as a model institution worth emulating.
Members of the committee noted that the school’s friendly learning environment and high-quality teaching methods have played a key role in producing excellent academic results.
Holyland School has continued to excel in national examinations for both Standard Four and Standard Seven, achieving first place nationally this year an accomplishment that earned praise from the regional leadership.
The school is owned and directed by Lawena Nsonda, popularly known as Baba Mzazi, who emphasized that the institution’s success is built on strong collaboration among teachers, parents, and students.
“Our focus is on discipline, holistic child development, and quality education that prepares pupils not only to pass exams but to become responsible citizens,” Nsonda said.
Regional Commissioner Malisa congratulated the management for their efforts, urging other schools to adopt similar standards to improve education outcomes across the region.
