The Tanganyika Law Society (TLS) has called on authorities to focus their efforts on locating missing colleagues, following heightened security around its Dar es Salaam headquarters today.
The society said resources currently deployed for police presence could be more effectively used to reunite missing lawyers with their families something it says could be achieved in a single day.
TLS reaffirmed its dedication to upholding the rule of law and human rights, emphasizing that its work is carried out professionally, without fear or bias.
The society continues dialogue with relevant authorities to ensure any acts of intimidation, harassment, or unlawful behavior by police officers, inside or outside court premises, are addressed swiftly.
The society urged members to remain calm, disciplined, and guided by previously issued TLS directives, particularly on maintaining constructive dialogue.
TLS leadership said it is closely monitoring developments and will provide timely updates to members and stakeholders.
“Unity and discipline remain our strongest tools in defending the integrity of our profession and the rights of all citizens,” said the TLS Council.
The council stressed that it will always stand firmly for justice and oppose all forms of injustice.
