A Tanzanian company has taken a major step in expanding its regional footprint by signing an agreement on scrap metal collection and management with the Moroni City Council in Comoros.
The signing ceremony, held today at the Tanzanian Embassy in Moroni, was witnessed by the Minister of Internal Affairs responsible for Local Governments, Hon. Mohamed Ahmed Assoumani, alongside senior city officials.
Tanzanian Ambassador to Comoros, Saidi Yakubu, praised Afri Feed Holding Limited for its commitment and thorough preparation.
“After being identified for this opportunity by the Embassy, the company spent nearly a month on-site to ensure the successful finalization of this agreement,” he said.
He also thanked the leadership of Moroni, led by Mayor Omar Mohamed, for welcoming the Tanzanian initiative and approving the collaboration.
In a further boost to Tanzanian–Comoros economic ties, Ambassador Yakubu formally presented a request from another Tanzanian firm seeking to develop a four-star hotel in Moroni, following completion of a detailed feasibility study.
This development highlights growing opportunities for Tanzanian businesses in Comoros and underscores the Embassy’s role in facilitating cross-border investments that benefit both nations.
