Simba SC will return to domestic duty tomorrow when they host Namungo FC in an NBC Tanzania Premier League fixture at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, with both sides keen to collect maximum points.

The Reds of Msimbazi head into the match buoyed by continental success, having advanced in the CAF Champions League and thrashed Fountain Gate 3–0 in their last league game. Namungo, meanwhile, will be looking to build on their 1–0 win over Tanzania Prisons.

Interim Simba coach Seleman Matola told reporters on Tuesday that preparations for the clash were complete and that his side is determined to continue their winning momentum.

“It won’t be an easy match because Namungo have a strong technical team, but we are fully prepared. Our target is to secure three points,” said Matola.

He added that the squad resumed training immediately after returning from their Champions League second leg against Botswana’s Gaborone United, with a strong focus on improving their finishing.

“All players are fit except Mohamed Bajaber and Abdul Razack, who remain long-term absentees. We created many clear chances in our last match but failed to convert, so we have worked hard to address that,” Matola noted.

Simba defender Antony Mligo said the players are equally motivated. “We are well-prepared to compete strongly in this fixture. We expect a tough game, but we are ready to give our best,” he said.

Namungo coach Juma Mgunda admitted his side face a difficult challenge but promised a spirited performance.

“We know Simba are coming off international duty, but we are ready to fight and ensure our fans enjoy the game,” Mgunda said.

Namungo player Abdallah Mfuko added that discipline and following instructions from the technical bench would be key to their performance.

Simba are aiming to keep pace in the title race, while Namungo see the encounter as a chance to climb further up the table.
