Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa today officially opened the 8th Annual Mining Technology Exhibition 2025 at the Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan grounds in Geita, underscoring the government’s commitment to ensuring that Tanzania’s mineral resources benefit ordinary citizens.
Launched in 2018, the Mining Technology Exhibition has become a key platform where government officials, private investors, small and large-scale miners, financial institutions, and entrepreneurs meet to share knowledge, explore partnerships, and discuss ways to turn Tanzania’s mineral wealth into tangible benefits for communities.
“This exhibition is not just about technology or profits; it is about creating jobs, promoting local entrepreneurship, and improving livelihoods across Tanzania,” Prime Minister Majaliwa said during the opening ceremony.
The 2025 exhibition carries the theme: “Growth of the Mining Sector is the Result of Proper Technology and Good Leadership / Participate in the October 2025 General Election.”
The theme reflects the government’s dual focus on sustainable sector growth and civic engagement.
The event showcases innovations that make mining safer, more efficient, and environmentally friendly. It also highlights financial and technical support for small-scale miners and entrepreneurs, ensuring that local communities can actively benefit from the sector.
Organizers emphasize that the exhibition provides ordinary Tanzanians with an opportunity to understand mining technologies, access training and investment opportunities, and participate in shaping how their country’s resources are managed.
Prime Minister Majaliwa called on stakeholders to embrace modern technology, responsible mining practices, and good governance, stressing that these are essential to transforming Tanzania’s mineral resources into meaningful benefits for all citizens.
