Electric tricycles transform lives of people with disabilities in Moshi

By The Respondent Reporter

People with disabilities in Moshi town are now enjoying greater independence and reduced daily costs after receiving electric tricycles from the Mati Foundation.

The foundation, based in Babati, Manyara, has provided 2,000 three-wheeled electric tricycles to support people with disabilities across the country.

Nsario Lyimo (45), a shoemaker from Majengo Market, said the tricycle has been a “lifesaver.”

“Besides helping me buy raw materials for my work, it has made daily commuting from home to work much easier and cheaper,” Nsario said.

Shedrack Fuliwar (52), a tailor from Pasua Street, said he no longer needs to hire motorized rickshaws to reach his workplace.

“I live in Pasua ward and run my tailoring business at Mbuyuni Market. As a person with a leg disability, this tricycle has truly changed my life. I am very grateful,” Fuliwar said.

David Mulokozi, Director of Mati Super Brands Ltd, said the program will continue to reach more people with disabilities nationwide.

“Our aim is to provide more than 2,000 tricycles to people who need them most, helping them improve their work and daily lives,” Mulokozi said.
