Residents of Ubungo and Kigamboni districts are set to benefit from improved public services following the delivery of new vehicles to district leaders by Regional Commissioner (RC) Albert Chalamila.
The Land Cruiser Prado vehicles, provided by President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, will help district officials reach citizens faster, address local challenges, and enhance government service delivery.
Speaking at the handover ceremony at Ubungo Municipal Council, RC Chalamila emphasized that the vehicles are more than just transportation they are tools to bring government closer to the people.
“These vehicles will allow district leaders to visit communities regularly, listen to residents, and solve their problems promptly,” Chalamila said.
The ceremony also highlighted the importance of youth sports. RC Chalamila encouraged all municipal councils to establish local football teams and maintain sports facilities, including gyms, as avenues for nurturing talent and creating employment opportunities for young people.
In line with this, Tanzania national team goalkeeper Yakoub Suleiman received a Crown car in recognition of his exceptional performance during the CHAN tournament, where his skillful goalkeeping brought pride to the nation despite Tanzania conceding a goal against Morocco in the quarterfinals.
Ubungo District Commissioner Advocate Albert Msando expressed gratitude to President Samia, noting that the new vehicle would enhance the district’s ability to serve residents efficiently.
Kinondoni District Commissioner Saad Mtambule promised to continue developing sports programs to engage youth and promote healthy lifestyles.
This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to connecting with citizens, strengthening public service delivery, and using sports as a platform for social and economic empowerment.
Residents can now look forward to more responsive leadership and expanded opportunities for young people through football and other sports.
