Oman trade delegation arrives in Tanzania for investment talks

Dar es Salaam. The Chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dr. Salem Al-Junaibi (MP), arrived in Tanzania on Sunday, September 7, 2025, leading a delegation of Omani business leaders for a five-day visit aimed at exploring investment and trade opportunities across various sectors.

Upon arrival at Julius Nyerere International Airport (JNIA), Dr. Al-Junaibi and his delegation were received by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Dr. Hashil Twaibu, and the Director for the Middle East Department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Abdalah Kilima. They were joined by Oman’s Deputy Ambassador to Tanzania, Rashid Al Mandhir, along with senior government officials and representatives from the private sector.

During the visit, the delegation is expected to hold discussions with key government institutions and private sector bodies, including the Fair Competition Commission (FCC), Kibaha Meat Factory, the Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (TCCIA), the Capital Markets and Securities Authority (CMSA), the Export Processing Zones Authority (EPZA), the Business Registrations and Licensing Agency (BRELA), TANTRADE, the Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS), the Tanzania Industrial Research and Development Organisation (TIRDO), and the National Development Corporation (NDC).

The group will also meet with the Tanzania Private Sector Foundation (TPSF), the Tanzania Veterinary Laboratory Agency (TVLA), and the Tea Board of Tanzania (TTB). Further engagements include talks with Permanent Secretaries from the Ministries of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Energy, and the President’s Office – Labour, Economy and Investment, during which a number of cooperation agreements between Tanzania and Oman are expected to be signed.


In addition to official meetings on the Mainland, Dr. Al-Junaibi and his team will travel to Zanzibar, where they will hold discussions with the Zanzibar Investment Promotion Authority (ZIPA), the Zanzibar National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC), and tour the Special Economic Zone.

The Omani delegation will also make presentations highlighting the investment climate and industrial landscape in Oman, while outlining opportunities for enhanced trade partnerships between the two countries.

The visit will end on September 12, 2025.
