The stage is set for tonight’s thrilling finale of the National Club Boxing Championships at Urithi Tanga Stadium, where Tanga Regional Commissioner, Dr. Batilda Buriani, will officially open the event.

A total of 32 boxers will battle in 16 high-stakes bouts, spanning 12 male weight categories and three female divisions, according to Lukelo Willilo, President of the Tanzania Boxing Federation (BFT).

The competition promises to be intense, especially for defending champions MMJKT, who face a tough challenge from Ngome.

Both teams have brought their full line-up of 11 boxers each, signaling a fierce contest for the coveted title.

Other finalists include Magereza (3 boxers), JKT Mgulani (1), Police Arusha (1), Kagera Boxing (1), Ngamiani (1), Jeba Boxing (1), Chang’ombe Boxing (1), and Band Coy (1).

“Will Ngome, last crowned champions in Iringa in 2019, reclaim the glory from MMJKT, who have dominated with four consecutive titles since 2021?” Willilo posed, highlighting the excitement and stakes of the championship.

The event is supported by leading Tanga-based sponsors, including Five Brother’s Entertainment, RATCO, RN Prints, Kanana Home Nursing, Urithi Tanga Museum, Sol Petrol Station, KT FM, and Makau Residence Apartments, ensuring a spectacular night for boxing fans.
