The Ministry of Finance is taking concrete steps to enhance transparency by ensuring that citizens have timely access to information on government policies, programs, and initiatives.
During a recent working session in Dodoma, Mr. Benny Mwaipaja, Chairperson of the Communications Committee and Head of the Ministry’s Government Communications Unit, called on committee members to actively support the effort to make information more accessible to the public.
The session brought together representatives from various departments and units to discuss strategies for improving information flow.
“The Ministry has a duty to inform the public about its activities, policies, and programs,” said Mr. Mwaipaja.
“I urge members of this Committee to collaborate closely with the Communications Unit and provide timely updates on key events, so we can share accurate information effectively.”he added
The Ministry’s information-sharing channels include its website, social media platforms such as Instagram, WhatsApp, X, and LinkedIn, Hazina TV, and traditional media like newspapers and television.
These channels help ensure that government information reaches a wide audience in clear and accessible language.
Mr. Mwaipaja highlighted the role of Hazina Yetu, the Ministry’s official magazine, which recently published its fourth edition and is preparing the fifth edition using information from various departments.
He stressed that these publications are designed to make government operations more understandable and encourage public participation in financial and policy matters.
He further encouraged stakeholders, both local and international, to engage with the Ministry’s information, which can support academic research, professional development, and informed decision-making.
By strengthening communication and transparency, the Ministry of Finance aims to foster a well-informed public capable of actively participating in national development initiatives.
