The Mining Commission is using the 8th National Mining Technology Exhibition in Geita as a platform to showcase innovation and raise public awareness about opportunities and responsibilities in the country’s mineral sector.
During a tour of the pavilion, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Minerals, Eng. Yahya Samamba, commended the Commission for engaging citizens and stakeholders in understanding the sector’s potential.
He was accompanied by the Deputy Permanent Secretary, Msafiri Mbibo, along with the Commission’s leadership led by Chairperson Dr. Janet Lekashingo and Commissioners Eng. Theonestina Mwasha and Dr. Theresia Numbi.
Officials said the exhibition is not only a place to display modern mining technologies but also a space for dialogue with the public.
“We want to ensure Tanzanians are fully informed and able to benefit from the opportunities in this sector,” said one official at the pavilion.
The Geita event has become a major platform for government agencies, private companies, and communities to explore ways of advancing the mining industry and contributing to national development.
