KIUT stood out as the star of this year’s National Volleyball League (TVNL), winning multiple individual awards at the season finale held on September 28 in Dar es Salaam.
The team secured a total of eight awards across both men’s and women’s categories, followed by Tanzania Prisons with five, Jeshi Stars with two, and Bandari, Korosho Queens, and JKT each taking one.
In the women’s division, KIUT’s Sara Hengama was named Best Setter, while Flavia Kanyesigye claimed Best Outside Hitter.
On the men’s side, Ridhiwan Lazima took Best Libero, and Said Alhaji was awarded Best Setter. Other KIUT honorees included Opit George as Best Middle Blocker, Meshack Wambura as Best Outside Hitter and MVP, and Evance recognized as Best Coach.
Tanzania Prisons also shone, with Adelaida Patrick winning Best Middle Blocker, Eveline Albert securing Best Outside Hitter and MVP, Naima Mrope taking Best Opposite, and Fred Mshangama named Best Coach.
Jeshi Stars’ Michael Thomas was awarded Best Middle Blocker and Aman Mayombo Best Outside Hitter.
JKT’s Raymond Bwachele earned Best Opposite, while Bandari’s Gaudensia Paul took Best Libero, and Sellestine Machumu was recognized as Best Middle Blocker.
The awards reflect the growing talent and competitiveness of Tanzanian volleyball, with KIUT leading the way as a powerhouse in the league.
