Speaker of the National Assembly and President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), Dr. Tulia Ackson, has officially launched the campaign for the Isanga Ward Councilor seat ahead of the general elections on October 29.

Dr. Tulia kicked off the campaign yesterday in Isanga Ward, endorsing Councilor candidate Dour Mohamed Issa and commending him for successfully implementing the pledges of the 2020–2025 election manifesto.

Addressing residents, Dr. Tulia urged voters to support Councilor Issa and Mbeya Urban parliamentary candidate Patrick Mwalunenge, saying:

“During my visit to Isanga to launch the campaign, I made it a point to come here and ask residents to vote for CCM candidates for President, Members of Parliament, and Councilors to ensure timely development,” he said.

Councilor Issa appealed for another term, praising Dr. Tulia for his guidance and support during his tenure.

“Dr. Tulia has been my mentor and advisor since his time as Mbeya Urban MP. I will continue to need his guidance and support both moral and material over the next five years,” he said.

Meanwhile, fellow councilor candidate David Nyembe, who fell short in votes previously, pledged to join Issa in rallying support for CCM candidates in the upcoming elections.

“Initially, after losing in the past, I felt disappointed with my counterpart. But following party directives, I have decided it is best to join forces to help CCM secure more votes in the general elections on October 29, 2025,” Nyembe said.
