Member of the National Executive Committee of Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) and Bukombe parliamentary candidate, Dr. Doto Mashaka Biteko, has called on voters in Sumve constituency, Kwimba District, Mwanza Region, to honor CCM by turning out in large numbers to support its candidates in the upcoming general election.
Speaking at a campaign rally in Mwanza while endorsing Sumve parliamentary candidate Moses Bujaga, Dr. Biteko highlighted the party’s efforts to spearhead development projects across the constituency and the wider region.
The appeal comes ahead of Tanzania’s presidential, parliamentary, and local government elections scheduled for October 29, 2025.
Dr. Biteko cited major infrastructure investments undertaken under the CCM-led government, including the construction of a Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) freight terminal in Mwanza and an international airport aimed at boosting the regional economy.
He also noted that electrification projects have reached all villages and sub-villages in Sumve constituency.
He commended President Samia Suluhu Hassan for her “listening leadership and action-oriented approach,” saying her administration had delivered 75 new primary schools, five health centres, and paved feeder roads to ease the transportation of agricultural produce to markets.
“These achievements are visible, not just promises. In the next five years, President Samia plans to implement even more development projects. I am urging the people of Sumve to vote overwhelmingly for CCM candidates as a sign of respect for our party and once you have done so, you should hold us accountable for delivering on development,” Dr. Biteko stressed.
He further described voting as an investment in people’s livelihoods and well-being, urging voters to give their mandate to President Samia Suluhu Hassan for continued progress.
Presenting Bujaga as CCM’s candidate for Sumve, Dr. Biteko described him as a calm, diligent, and educated leader with a proven ability to find solutions to community challenges. “Come October 29, turn out in big numbers to elect him,” he said.
In his remarks, Bujaga expressed gratitude to CCM for nominating him, pledging to work closely with residents to accelerate development if elected.
Kwimba parliamentary candidate, Cosmas Bulala, also addressed the rally, describing Kwimba as “the development hub of Mwanza Region.” He urged voters to retain CCM leadership in order to sustain ongoing progress.
