Young Africans Sports Club (Yanga SC) has secured a major financial boost after signing a TSh3.3 billion sponsorship deal with Chinese electronics giant Haier.

The three-year agreement, running from 2025 to 2028, is expected to strengthen the club’s operational capacity and support its ambitions in both domestic and continental competitions.

The deal was officially signed today in Dar es Salaam, with Yanga President, Eng. Hersi Said, affirming that the partnership will play a key role in enhancing the club's administrative efficiency, player recruitment, and preparations for the 2025/2026 season  especially as Yanga eyes success in the CAF Champions League.

“This partnership with Haier is a major step forward,” said Eng. Hersi. “It strengthens our leadership, supports player signings, and bolsters various aspects of our club’s operations. Our collaboration in the past brought blessings  including reaching the CAF Confederation Cup final  and we are confident this new agreement will bring even greater achievements.”

Haier's Regional Director, Mr. Leon Chi, said the company is proud to remain part of Yanga’s growth journey, highlighting the strong relationship established among Haier, GSM (Yanga’s commercial partner), and the club.

“We sincerely thank Yanga for their significant contribution in promoting Haier’s products and brand image,” said Mr. Chi.

“This renewed partnership reflects our confidence in Yanga, and we are committed to building an even more fruitful relationship in the years ahead.”he added

Echoing the sentiment, Haier Tanzania Manager, Mr. Ibrahim Kiongozi, described the partnership as transformative and mutually beneficial.

“Today’s announcement confirms our continued commitment to a collaboration that has already delivered remarkable results,” said Mr. Kiongozi.

“This is a strategic partnership that benefits all three parties involved  Haier, GSM, and Yanga.”he added

The TSh3.3 billion deal underscores the growing commercial appeal of Tanzanian football and reflects Yanga’s rising stature as one of Africa’s most ambitious clubs, both on and off the pitch.
