WMA CEO highlights importance of measurement accuracy at NaneNane exhibition

By Alfred Zacharia

Alban Kihulla, Chief executive officer of the Weights and Measures Agency (WMA), emphasized the agency’s critical role in safeguarding consumer rights during his visit to the 2025 National NaneNane Exhibition at Nzuguni Grounds, Dodoma.

Kihulla praised WMA staff for their ongoing public education efforts on measurement standards.

He urged them to extend awareness beyond the exhibition to deepen public understanding of accurate measurements’ impact on fair trade and service delivery.

“Accurate measurements are fundamental to consumer protection and market fairness. Citizens must know their right to precise measurements and their responsibility to use certified instruments,” Kihulla stated.

His tour included key government pavilions, such as the Ministry of Industry and Trade, underscoring collaboration among institutions to improve service delivery.

The WMA’s oversight ensures measurements used in commerce and industry comply with standards, reducing fraud and promoting trust in the market.
