Water supply disruption expected in Mlandizi to Kisarawe on August 15

The Dar es Salaam Water and Sewerage Authority (DAWASA) has announced a planned nine-hour water service interruption on Friday, August 15, 2025, affecting customers in parts of Dar es Salaam and Coast Region supplied through the Ruvu Juu Water Treatment Plant in Mlandizi.

The outage, scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., is to facilitate preventive maintenance on the national electricity infrastructure by the Tanzania Electric Supply Company Limited (TANESCO), which will temporarily halt production at the plant.

Affected areas will include Ruvu Darajani, Ruvu JKT, Mlandizi, Mbwawa, Visiga, Mile 35, Misugusugu, Kongowe, Soga, Miembe Saba, Kwa Mfipa, Mwendapole, Tanita, Kwa Mathias, Kwa Mbonde, Picha ya Ndege, Lulanzi, Kibaha, Kiluvya, Kibamba, Mbezi, Magari Saba, Mbezi Inn, Mshikamano, Kimara, Makoka, Tabata, Kinyerezi, Kisukuru, Msigani, Maramba Mawili, Kimara B, Kimara Korogwe, Bucha, Baruti, Ubungo, Ukonga, Pugu, Gongo la Mboto, Julius Nyerere International Airport, Majumba Sita, Kiwalani, Segerea, and Kisarawe.

DAWASA has advised residents to store sufficient water in advance to cover their domestic needs during the service disruption.

 The authority has also assured customers that supply will be restored promptly once maintenance work is completed.
