TPDC Applauded for Pioneering Natural Gas Distribution at Nane Nane Exhibition

Dodoma – The 32nd National Nane Nane Exhibition continues to draw national attention at the Nzuguni grounds in Dodoma, August 6, 2025, where innovation, sustainability, and development take center stage. Among the standout participants is the Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC), whose groundbreaking efforts in expanding access to natural gas have earned widespread acclaim.

During a visit to the TPDC pavilion, Ms. Asia Juma Messo—official government representative and District Executive Director of Mkalama District Council—praised the corporation for its transformative role in Tanzania’s clean energy landscape. Her remarks echoed a growing national sentiment that TPDC is not just building infrastructure, but shaping the future of energy in the country.

“What TPDC is doing here is not just technical work—it’s nation-building,” Ms. Messo remarked. “Their commitment to innovation and collaboration, particularly with subsidiaries like TAN OIL and GASCO, is a critical step toward realizing the 2030 national goal of clean cooking energy for all.”

This year’s exhibition, that was honored by Dr. Mpango on August 1st, features a broad spectrum of participants—from government agencies to private enterprises—showcasing progress in agriculture, energy, and sustainability.

But TPDC’s exhibit stood out, not only for its technical displays but also for the human story behind its mission: bringing clean, affordable energy to Tanzanians in their homes, communities, and even in transportation.

For many attendees, the TPDC pavilion offered more than an overview of gas pipelines and supply networks—it provided a glimpse into a cleaner, more self-reliant energy future. The corporation’s approach emphasizes not just infrastructure, but accessibility, safety, and community engagement—key elements in ensuring long-term adoption of natural gas across diverse regions.

Ms. Messo urged continued public education and strategic investment in carbon-reducing energy alternatives, citing natural gas as a catalyst for both environmental protection and economic growth.

“There is a real opportunity here,” she said. “Natural gas is gaining traction, and with it comes vast potential for business, innovation, and environmental leadership. We must support and expand these efforts at every level—government, private sector, and individual households.”

As Tanzania steadily moves toward its clean energy goals, TPDC’s presence at Nane Nane is a timely reminder that sustainable development is not a distant ambition, but an ongoing, collaborative effort—already visible in the pipes being laid, the homes being powered, and the future being built today.
