The Chairman of the Board of the Tanzania Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA), Ambassador Aziz Ponary Mlima, has visited the Bagamoyo Special Economic Zone (SEZ) to assess the readiness of the area for investment and the progress of enabling infrastructure.

Ambassador Mlima was accompanied by TISEZA Director General, Mr. Gilead Teri, during the working visit, which involved inspecting ongoing projects and holding discussions with industrial operators already established in the zone.

The visit gave the delegation an opportunity to evaluate the implementation of existing projects and identify challenges facing investors in the Bagamoyo SEZ.

Speaking during the tour, Ambassador Mlima reaffirmed TISEZA’s commitment to improving the investment environment within the country’s SEZs by ensuring reliable infrastructure and services, including roads, power supply, water, and communications.

“TISEZA is determined to work closely with the private sector to make our zones more competitive and attractive to both domestic and international investors,” he said.

For his part, Mr. Teri noted that partnerships with the private sector remain central to the authority’s vision of enhancing productivity and fostering industrial development.

He emphasized that TISEZA is focused on positioning Tanzania as a leading hub for trade and investment in Africa.

The Bagamoyo SEZ is one of the government’s flagship initiatives designed to accelerate industrialization, generate employment, and enhance Tanzania’s global competitiveness.
