Tanzania Commercial Bank (TCB) has pledged full support for the implementation of the National Development Vision 2050, the long-term blueprint launched by President Samia Suluhu Hassan in Dodoma.

Speaking at the opening of the CEO’s Forum 2025 in Arusha, TCB Credit Director Daniel Mbotto, representing the bank’s Managing Director Adam Mihayo, said TCB is proud to be part of this transformative national agenda.

The Vision aims to propel Tanzania to upper-middle-income status and increase national income to one trillion US dollars by 2050.

Mbotto noted that TCB has already aligned its new strategic plan with Vision 2050. The bank is now focusing on production sectors, particularly agriculture, which employs over 70 percent of the population.

This strategic shift aims to ensure that small, medium, and large-scale traders benefit from customized financial solutions.

“TCB is fully committed to implementing Vision 2050. We will continue working closely with the government, the private sector, and citizens to ensure this Vision becomes a reality,” Mbotto said.

In line with its innovation drive, TCB has integrated its Popote mobile banking app with the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) trading platform.

The integration enables customers to access real-time market data, execute trades, and manage investment portfolios directly from their mobile phones, eliminating the need to visit trading centers.

The bank’s recent financial performance reflects a strong growth trajectory.

TCB’s profit soared by 26 percent, with entrepreneurs’ loans reaching TZS 569 billion.

By the end of last month, profit before tax stood at TZS 29 billion, marking a 10 percent increase.

Furthermore, TCB’s capital increased to TZS 167 billion, while the bank recorded a total profit of TZS 31 billion last year, of which TZS 5 billion was paid to the government as dividends.

With these developments, TCB positions itself as a key partner in driving Tanzania’s economic transformation under Vision 2050.
