The Tanzania Olympic Committee (TOC) has officially set October 4, 2025, in Morogoro as the date for its General Election.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) had initially recommended that the election take place at the end of September.
TOC successfully requested a postponement to allow its representatives to attend a meeting of chief secretaries from Olympic committees across different countries, scheduled in September in Maputo, Mozambique.
Speaking to journalists on August 26, 2025, TOC President Gulam Rashid thanked the IOC for approving the request and confirmed the election date.
"Our Election Commission will tomorrow announce the positions open for election so that all Tanzanians can follow the process and understand how it will unfold," Rashid said.
He added that the full election process would be publicized to ensure transparency.
Meanwhile, TOC Vice President Henry Tanda announced that at the end of September, a Taekwondo training session will be held at Filbert Bayi School in Kibaha, Pwani region.
"These training sessions will prepare athletes for upcoming competitions and strengthen the development of Taekwondo across the country," Tanda said.
