Prime Minister Majaliwa officiates 50th anniversary of Adult Education Institute

Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa today officiated the 50th-anniversary celebrations of the Adult Education Institute, highlighting the critical role of lifelong learning in driving national development.

 The event is taking place at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre in Dar es Salaam.

The conference aims to position adult education as a key driver of economic growth, social progress, and technological advancement in Tanzania.

 It also provides a platform for sharing experiences, research outcomes, and innovative methods to enhance the delivery and impact of adult education programs across the country.

Speaking at the opening session, Prime Minister Majaliwa underscored the importance of continuous education in empowering citizens, reducing inequalities, and fostering sustainable development.

The three-day conference, running from August 25 to 27, 2025, carries the theme: “Lifelong Learning for Sustainable Development.” 

Delegates include education experts, policymakers, and practitioners from across Tanzania, all contributing to discussions on how adult education can respond to the nation’s evolving economic and technological needs.

This milestone celebration not only commemorates five decades of adult education in Tanzania but also sets the stage for innovative approaches that can strengthen skills development and lifelong learning, ensuring citizens are equipped to thrive in an increasingly dynamic world.
