Ministers’ attendance low at CEOs forum as election campaigning kicks off

Attendance by government ministers at today’s CEOs Forum at the Arusha International Conference Centre (AICC) is notably lower than usual, as many have headed to their constituencies to submit nomination forms ahead of the 2025 general elections.

Minister of State in the President’s Office for Planning and Investment, Prof. Kitila Mkumbo, explained the trend, saying, “You will notice very few ministers in today’s session compared to previous meetings. Yesterday, many ministers and deputy ministers were at their constituencies filing nomination forms. Everyone is eager to ensure our party is fully represented in tomorrow’s submissions.”

The CEOs Forum 2025 gathers chairpersons and chief executives of public institutions to discuss strategies for improving governance, planning, and performance.

Despite lower ministerial presence, the forum continues to focus on strengthening collaboration between public institutions and private sector partners.
