Makao pledges continued development for Rujewa residents

The Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) candidate for Rujewa Ward, Mr. Jeremia Makao, has formally submitted his nomination papers to seek re-election as councilor, promising to continue the development efforts he initiated during his previous term.

Mr. Makao, who served as Rujewa Ward Councilor from 2020 to 2025, emerged victorious in the party primaries, securing the chance to represent CCM once again in the forthcoming local government elections.

Speaking after submitting his forms at the Rujewa Ward Assistant Returning Officer’s office, Mr. Makao assured residents of his commitment to infrastructure and social services.

“I have carefully submitted my nomination forms today, and I want to assure the people of Rujewa that we will continue to advance our community, particularly in roads, bridges, education, and other key sectors,” he said.

The Rujewa Ward Assistant Returning Officer, Mr. Harrno Gauday, said a total of seven political parties have presented candidates for the ward councilor seat. 

These are CCM, ACT-Wazalendo, DP, CUF, NLD, CHAUMA, NCCR-Mageuzi, and CCK.

Mr. Gauday noted that the nomination process has gone smoothly without obstacles, adding that all candidates returned their forms before the August 28 deadline across Mbeya Region.

Meanwhile, Mr. Shaban Mwanjali, contesting under the Democratic Party (DP), praised election officials for managing the exercise transparently and ensuring fairness for all parties.
