The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has initiated consultations with 18 registered political parties ahead of the 2025 General Election to agree on a nationwide campaign schedule.
INEC’s Director of Elections, Ramadhani Kailima, chaired the meeting, which focused on creating a level playing field for all parties.
He announced that campaigns will officially run from August 28 to October 28, 2025, in line with the electoral calendar.
Kailima underscored the need for parties to comply with the agreed timelines to promote fairness and maintain order during the campaign period.
“This schedule is designed to ensure equal opportunity for all parties and safeguard the integrity of the electoral process,” he noted.
The move signals INEC’s commitment to transparency and inclusivity as the country heads toward what is expected to be one of the most competitive elections in recent years.
